How utterly bizarre that "truther" has become an epithet. Presumably the term refers to someone in active pursuit of the truth.

But in our wonderful sound-byte/concision world, a "truth seeker" is a "nutcase". During the election, Sarah Palin's hair was more important than McCain's foreign policy.

"Birther" is an obvious attempt to smear "truthers" with the nut-ball brush.

It's not that Obama might not have been born in some other country, it's that the entire controversy was obviously green-lighted, real or not. Like Clinton getting a blowjob. Clinton was guilty of serious crimes before becoming president, but no one wanted to talk about Mena. They wanted to talk about Cuban cigars and "salacious" happenings in the Oval Office.

Obama is a serious war criminal who should be tried at the Hague for crimes against humanity, but silly republi-bots everywhere are scratching their chins over whether he was born in darky-land. Partisan nonsense that sidesteps the important issues.

To be honest, I stopped using the term "truther" a long time ago. It's a little too cutesy for my taste. Wink
