HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A New Jersey blogger facing charges in two states for allegedly making threats against lawmakers and judges was trained by the FBI on how to be deliberately provocative, his attorney said Tuesday.

Hal Turner worked for the FBI from 2002 to 2007 as an "agent provocateur" and was taught by the agency "what he could say that wouldn't be crossing the line," defense attorney Michael Orozco said.

"His job was basically to publish information which would cause other parties to act in a manner which would lead to their arrest," Orozco said.

Prosecutors have acknowledged that Turner was an informant who spied on radical right-wing organizations, but the defense has said Turner was not working for the FBI when he allegedly made threats against Connecticut legislators and wrote that three federal judges in Illinois deserved to die.

"But if you compare anything that he did say when he was operating, there was no difference. No difference whatsoever," Orozco said.

Special Agent Ross Rice, a spokesman for the FBI in Chicago, said he would not comment on or even confirm Turner's relationship with the FBI.

Orozco spoke to reporters after a court hearing in Hartford on Tuesday. Turner, 47, of North Bergen, N.J., did not appear, because he is in federal custody in Illinois. His arraignment on the Connecticut charges was rescheduled to Oct. 19.

In June, Turner urged his readers to "take up arms" against Connecticut lawmakers and suggested government officials should "obey the Constitution or die," because he was angry over legislation—later withdrawn—that would have given lay members of Roman Catholic churches more control over their parish's finances.

He wrote in Internet postings the same month that the Illinois federal appeals judges "deserve to be killed" because they issued a ruling that upheld ordinances in Chicago and suburban Oak Park banning handguns. He included their photos and the room numbers of their chambers at the courthouse.

Orozco officially joined Turner's defense team in the Connecticut case on Tuesday, with approval from Superior Court Judge David Gold. Orozco said his Newark, N.J.-based firm has been representing Turner for the past five years, including during his FBI informant years.

Turner's Connecticut attorney, Matthew R. Potter, said it's too early to tell which trial will move forward first. Orozco said he plans First Amendment defenses in both cases.

Randall Samborn, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office in Chicago, said the office would not comment on Orozco's statements.

As I said on blogger, 9/11 sites have been infiltrated for years by people who's only purpose is to stir up arguments, or promote bogus information so as to make us all look crazy.

On septembereleventh.org, people infiltrated the site as "GoldIsAFag", and "GoldsDeadGrandfather." It was because of those people that a decision was made to shut down their bulletin board. That is one of the main reasons I started my own site. I felt bad about them having to shut down the board.

On 911blogger.com, it was originally 911blimp (Dave), and holograms. Then Nico & Friends with their "TV Fakery." It was because of Nico that dz made the decision to moderate blog posts. Originally, if you posted a blog to 911blogger.com, it would automatically appear. Now, the moderators have to accept the post. Then, the "holocaust revisionists" that we all know and hate infiltrated the site to push their controversial bullshit. There was a time when "debunkers" would post there to argue solely about Controlled Demolition. Someone by the name of "terrence" was the first. The CIT crowd were the latest.

9/11 Truth site infiltration is a known fact. This site has even had its share of idiots that Cosmos has had to ban.

Because of the new ownership on 911blogger.com, those individuals who used to make trouble have returned. "getitright" from that horrid site we all know and hate is back. Keenan was there. I'm sure several others are there now as well. At the very least, those idiots are manipulating the voting system within the comments. This thread is a perfect example of that manipulation.

Sofia Shafqat, Eric Hufschmid, the Protocols of Zion, statements like "This movement does not have room for those who do not 'believe' in Controlled Demolition" are suddenly acceptable? Please.

Yup, and thats why I don't even go there anymore. Its a continuing exersize in frustration.

If the truth is ever made public and people are made accountable and brought to justice, that will be my first sigh of relief. That the families will have the answers they've been searching for all this time and that the country will begin to tread on the right path.

My second sigh of relief will be in knowing that I won't have to be associated with most of the 9/11 truth movement anymore. If that sounds harsh, I'm sorry. But its honest.

The flip side of that is being a part of this movement for the past 5+ yrs of my life has introduced me to people that I'm so proud to know and consider friends.

Some of the best people I've ever met have been truthers. The crummiest people I've ever met have been fake truthers who have, alas, achieved far too much visibility and prestige in the movement.
