We've just learned Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Los Angeles ... and we're told it was cardiac arrest and that paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance.
He was picked up at his home around 20 minutes ago -- we're told his mother is on the way to visit him.
UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.
UPDATE: A Jackson family member tells TMZ Michael is in "really bad shape" and the brothers are headed to UCLA. _________________ In a dictatorship, no one can hear you scream.

LOL!
I suspect that some people here are too mucho and hung up to appreciate this, but it's one of my favorite MJ moments from a crunchy children's show from the 70.
Maybe I'll never know. I stopped watching at 1:39, offended by the guy's
arrogance in expecting us to watch an eight minute video that he appears to be making up on the spot, couldn't be bothered to edit, and which is mighty slow in getting to the point.
I loved Michael Jackson when I was a kid. I tried to learn how to breakdance -- got pretty good at the backspin then received Hell from my mother for trying a headspin. She pointed out that several youth had broken their necks trying to learn the maneuver.
I find it interesting that the basic truths about Jackson's life are being ignored in the media coverage of his death.
Here is a black man who essentially tried to transform himself, physically, into a white man. Surely this reveals something profound about American society. Here is walking proof that money cannot buy happiness. How many of us would have traded places with Michael Jackson, despite all his fancy toys? Here is a boy who was treated as a commodity by his father, pimped out for his talents, abused physically, psychologically and sexually, who went on to develop an (ahem) unhealthy relationship with children.
Psychologists could write thirty volumes on Jackson's psychopathologies, yet even in his death we gloss it all over. I saw Reverend Sharpton on CNN talking about how Michael Jackson "changed the world" etc. The last image I remember of Jackson was a bizarre bio where he was shopping for tacky, Las Vegas style psuedo-Rococo antiques of Greek Gods priced at ten or so thousand a piece.
